Robert "Bob" Hudson was born December 22 1954, and raised in Chicago's Cabrini Green Housing project by a single mom. He became a critical thinker as a result. Critical thinking would become one of his hallmark traits. Bob had a desire and dream to become a radio personality. This desire was so strong that he and a close friend, Ronald Simmons, created a party promotion company called The Starship Enterprise. Bob and Ron used their company to throw elaborate parties around the likes of the Polo Towers Complex, located in the heart of Chicago. Because of their success, Bob and Ron often met other radio personalities such as Tom Joyner and Richard Steele, just to name a few. Following this, Bob also began work as an intern for WBBM (the talk of Chicago) station in 1982. As Bob’s ambitions and his family grew, he decided to continue his education. Bob attended and completed a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) program from Columbia College in 1988, while working a full-time job and having 3 children of his own. To add to his many interests, Bob also had a passion for politics and traveling. He enjoyed watching and listening to political shows, especially Tom Hartman on radio station 820-AM as well as the nine o’clock news. His passion for traveling, compelled him to promise his wife, Catherine, that he would someday take her around the world to experience different cultures. Not only did he make good on his promise to Catherine, but he included their children and several others as well on their journeys.
